Eligibility Criteria:

(a) Graduation (full time degree course) in any discipline from a recognized University with minimum 55% marks (45% for SC / ST / PWD Candidates) &

(b) Diploma in Computer Application of minimum 1 year duration with proficiency in MS Office Package &

(c) Minimum Typing speed on PC of 40 w.p.m. and 30 w.p.m. in English for General category and Reserved category respectively.

Scale of Pay & emoluments:

  • During the first year, they will receive a consolidated pay of Rs. 10700/- per month.
  • In the second year, the consolidated pay will be Rs. 12200/- per month.
  • Upon successful completion of training of 2 years, they will be placed in S-3 grade / Rs. 9160 – 3% – 13150 with a minimum basic pay of Rs. 9,160/-.
  • On placement in S3 grade, the Junior Assistants will be placed on probation for a period of one year.
  • Upon successful completion of the probation period, they will be confirmed in the post.

Selection Procedure:

Steel Authority of India Limited, Central Marketing Organisation will hold All India Open Examination for recruitment to the post of Junior Assistant (Trainee).

The selection process will comprise of

Stage 1: Written test

Consists of Multiple Choice Questions on General Awareness, English, Quantitative Aptitude & Reasoning.

  • Written Test will be held at – New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai

Stage II (for those who clear stage 1) :  Computer Skill / Computer Typing Test / Interview

(i) Computer Skill Test on MS Office Package
(ii) Computer Typing Test on PC (in English) at speed of 40 w.p.m. and 30 w.p.m. for General category and Reserved category respectively and
(iii) Interview

  • Computer Skill / Computer Typing / Interview will be held at Kolkata

Important: 

  1. The Candidate Selected will be asked to serve anywhere in India.
  2. The selected candidates will be initially recruited as Jr. Assistant (Trainee) and will be on training for a period of two years.

  1. State Bank of India has been authorized to collect the examination fee / processing charges in a specially opened account (No.32036360352) in SBI, CAG Branch, Kolkata, on behalf of SAIL. Candidate has to approach the nearby State Bank of India branch with a printout of the “pay-in-slip”
  2. Candidates should retain a photocopy of their Pay in Slip and Registration Slip as they can be asked to produce them for reference.
