Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (JMRC), a Government of Rajasthan Undertaking, registered under the Companies Act, 1956, is implementing Metro Rail Transit System in Jaipur and intends to recruit people for operation & maintenance of its first line scheduled to be commissioned in June, 2013.
Applications are invited from energetic, dynamic and motivated persons who possess the prescribed qualification for any post(s) and meet other eligibility criteria for immediate interim manpower requirements.

Last date for depositing the Application Fee in the State Bank of India as per Challan: 1.11.12

  • For the post of Station Controller/ Train Operator (SC/TO): 17.11.12 till commencement of the Written Test: 17.11.12
  • For all other posts: 4.12.12

Tentative date for Written Test: 

  • For the post of Station Controller/ Train Operator (SC/TO): 9.12.12
  • For all other posts: 23.12.12

Application Fees:
For Persons with Disabilities (OL – R or L) : Rs. 200/-
For SC/ST candidates of Rajasthan:  Rs. 200/-
For Non-Creamy Layer OBC/BC/SBC candidates of Rajasthan:  Rs. 300/-
For all other candidates Rs. 400/-

Bank Charges: The Challan shall include Bank Charges of Rs. 30 per Application which shall be payable in addition to the Application Fee indicated above.

Age Limits (as on 1 January 2013): Minimum: 21 Years and Maximum: 34 years
Relaxation in maximum age for SC/ST/OBC/PC/Ex-Servicemen etc will be as per extant Government Guidelines.

Details of Vacancies and Pay scale:
1) For the post of Station Controller/ Train Operator:

  • Total no. of posts vacant: 65
  • Qualification: Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University with minimum 50% marks or equivalent Grade/ Level in graduation, and Mathematics or Physics as one of the subjects passed in Senior Secondary (10+2) or Higher Secondary (10+1) or equivalent examination of a recognised Board.
  • Scale of Pay: 9300-34800
  • The job of Station Controller/ Train Operator includes driving metro trains and/or looking after the affairs of metro stations including Customer Care Centres, Depot Control Centres, Operation Control Centres, etc. in shift duty, including night shift.
  • Scheme of Examination: Written test, Psychometric Test, Interview, and Medical fitness test.

2) For the post of Junior Engineer (Civil):

  • Total no. of posts vacant: 21
  • Qualification: Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised University (or equivalent Engineering qualification) with minimum 50% marks or equivalent Grade/Level.
  • Scale of pay: 9300-34800
  • The job of  Junior Civil Engineer includes supervision and maintenance of  Civil infrastructure, civil works & Permanent Way, Stores, etc.
  • Scheme of Examination: Written test and Medical fitness test.

3) For the post of Junior Engineer (Electrical):

  • Total no. of posts vacant: 38
  • Qualification: Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognised University (or equivalent Engineering qualification) with minimum 50% marks or equivalent Grade/Level.
  • Scale of pay: 9300-34800
  • The job of  Junior Electrical Engineer includes supervision and maintenance of Lifts, Escalators, Power Supply Installation, Rolling Stock, Signalling and Telecom, Electrical & Mechanical (E&M), Stores, etc.
  • Scheme of Examination: Written test and Medical fitness test.

4) For the post of Junior Engineer  (Mechanical):

  • Total no. of posts vacant: 14
  • Qualification: Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised University (or equivalent Engineering qualification) with minimum 50% marks or equivalent Grade/Level.
  • Scale of Pay: 9300-34800
  • The job of  Junior Mechanical Engineer includes supervision and maintenance of  Rolling Stock, Electrical & Mechanical (E&M), Stores, etc.

5) For the post of Junior Engineer  (Electronics):

  • Total no. of posts vacant:  29
  • Qualification: Degree in Electronics/ Electronics & Communication Engineering from a recognised University (or equivalent Engineering qualification) with minimum 50% marks or equivalent Grade/Level.
  • Scale of pay: 9300-34800
  • The job of  Junior Engineer  (Electronics) includes supervision and maintenance of Signalling, Telecom, Automatic Fare Collection, Power Supply Installation, Rolling Stock components, Stores, etc.

6) For the post of Customer  Relations Assistant:

  • Total no. of posts vacant: 50
  • Qualification: Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University with minimum 50% marks or equivalent Grade/ Level.
  • Scale of Pay: 5200-20200
  • The job of Customer Relations Assistant (CRA) includes interaction with commuters at Customer Care Centres and catering to their needs and problems, looking after the affairs of metro stations including operation control centres and other duties, in shift duty, including night shift.
  • Scheme of Examination: Written test, Interview and Medical fitness test.

7) For the post of Maintainer (Fitter):

  • Total no. of posts vacant: 52
  • Qualification: EITHER a) National Trade Certificate or National Apprenticeship Certificate in ‘Fitter’ Trade or equivalent certificate, issued by NCVT/ DG E&T/ Ministry of Labour & Employment/ Government of India, pursuant to a course of minimum two years’ duration.  OR b) State Trade Certificate in ‘Fitter’ Trade or equivalent certificate, issued by SCVT, pursuant to a course of minimum two years’ duration.

8) For the post of Maintainer (Electrician):

OR b) State Trade Certificate in ‘Mechanic (Refrigeration and Air-Conditioner)’ Trade or equivalent certificate, issued by SCVT, pursuant to a course of minimum two years’ duration.

IMPORTANT: The job of Maintainers pertains to maintenance of Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and Electronic components of the Metro Rail System, and also installation and operationalisation of various components like Lifts, Escalators, Track, Structure, Traction, Overhead Equipment, Electrical & Mechanical (E&M), Signalling, Telecom, Automatic Fare Collection, Rolling Stock, Train Coaches, Stores, Depots, etc., in shift duty, including night shift.

Please Note:

  1.  There is a Probation period of 2 years. During the period of probation each probationer may be required to pass such examination and to undergo such training as may be prescribed from time to time.
  2. During probation an employee shall be entitled only to fixed remuneration, and only after successful completion of probation period, shall he/she be paid in the running pay bands and grade pays as applicable for the post at entry level.

Indicative Syllabus for Written test: 

In the written tests, the standard of domain/discipline/trade related questions will be commensurate with the technical qualification specified for the concerned post. The standard of other questions would also be such as may be reasonably expected of a candidate having educational qualification specified for the post.
