- There will be two exams for probationary officers, two exams for clerical levels and one exam for specialist officers (agricultural, law, technical).
- The scores provided by IBPS for the common written exam will be valid for a year and successful candidates can apply to any bank of their choice based on these scores.
- The first such common test for probationary officers was conducted in September while the first set of clerical exams just got over on December 11.
- The first common test for specialized officers will be conducted in March 2012.
- Last year, IBPS screened 13 million candidates for employment while this year it is expected to screen 15 million candidates.
Although, the syllabus of English section for IBPS Exams is quite exhaustive, following things have to be given attention while preparing for IBPS CWE English Section –
- Error Correction
So, now the question is how to improve on the above topics?? Just know the basic rules of grammar. Read newspaper, read newspaper and read newspaper. This is the best you can do to score better marks in Comprehension, Error Correction and Vocabulary. Reading will increase your pace and thereby you can save time while doing comprehension. While reading newspaper, you will come across minimum of atleast 30 new words. That will increase your vocabulary from o to 210 in just a week. Try it out!!! You will definitely see awesome results!!!
Also you can watch English movies and can understand from it. Try to practice as many mock tests as you can and then evaluate it to find your mistakes. By this way you can find weak areas and lay stress upon them.
Avoid spelling mistakes - Nothing annoys an examiner like bad spellings so strictly avoid them. There are certain words which can confuse you in spelling. Go through those words.
We recommend studying the “Objective General English” book by R S Aggarwal for preparation for both IBPS PO Exam as well as IBPS Clerk Exam. You can purchase it at a discount from flipkart website.
