SBI, the largest banks in our country recently released the notification regarding the recruitment of Probationary Officers (PO) for its Associate Banks. SBI recruits every year recruits candidates for its associate banks as PO’s, clerks through an examination. Recruitment process will have many filters to shortlist candidates so every phase is important to reach the final selection list.

The pattern for SBI PO have two phases i.e., Written Examination followed by GD and Interview. Written exam is conducted in common for all the candidates who have applied for this recruitment. This phase have two tests-

Online Practice Paper for SBI PO Associate

Descriptive Test – This test is for 50 marks with 1 hour duration. In this examination candidates are tested for their English Language skills. Candidates should mainly concentrate on Reading Comprehension, Short precis, Letter writing and Essay.

Phase II is GD and Interview to get through this candidates should have good communication and full-fledged Banking awareness.

To get over written examination or Phase II of the recruitment candidates need lots of practice. As Descriptive paper of the candidate will be evaluated only after qualifying in Objective Test obviously it is the top most priority for the candidates. The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will organise the common written exam (CWE) for recruitment of personnel for Bank Clerks (Clerical Cadre) Posts for 19 public sector banks on 27th Nov 2011. Except SBI, most big PSBs are going to recruit bank clerks only on the performance of CWE for banks clerks and hence this exam is very important for the aspirants who want to seek clerical job in any of these 19 banks.

General Information for Bank Clerks Common Written Examination (CWE)

The Common Written Exam (CWE) for Clerical Cadre will be 250 marks written exam of 2 & 1/2 hrs. The syllabus and pattern for Bank Clerks CWE is as follows –

Negative Marking (Penalty for wrong answers) – The question paper will have negative marking. The negative marking will be 1/4th of the total marks assigned to a question. So for 1 mark question, it will be 0.25

Cut Off Score – Each candidate will have to secure a minimum standardized score in each of the tests (means each section) to qualify in the written examination and to be considered for vacancies in the participating banks. The cut-off points will be decided based on the average (Average – ¼ Standard Deviation for General category candidates and Average – ¾ Standard Deviation for Reserved Category candidates)

Please note that the objective questions will be in English and Hindi and also note that the Descriptive Papers of only those candidates who secure minimum qualifying marks in each of the objective tests will be evaluated.
