Staff Selection Commission (SSC) under special dispensation given by the Government, has hold an open examination (Part-I) on behalf of Food Corporation of India for recruitment to Grade III posts in General, Accounts, Depot and Technical cadres on 10th and 11th November 2012 and the results for the same has also been declared.

In view of large number of applications paper II and paper-III of Combined Recruitment for Assistant Grade III in General, Depot, Technical and Account Cadres in the FCI, 2013 which was scheduled on 6th January 2013 was postponed and was going to be held on on 3rd February 2013 BUT due to some administrative reasons, Paper-II and Paper-III scheduled on 3/2/2013 in the morning and afternoon session respectively has been cancelled.

Now, Commission has decided that re-examination for all registered candidates will be held on 07.04.2013 (Paper II in Forenoon and Paper-III in Afternoon).

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) declared the written examination result-Paper I held on 10th november & 11th november 2012 for filling up 6545 vacancies of Assistant Grade-III in Food Corporation of India(FCI).

Against 15,11,042 registered candidates 9,55,918 candidates actually appeared in this examination and the candidates who finally cleared paper-I are 1,28,856 candidates.

Everyone must be waiting for the results of paper-I of Food Corporation of India (FCI) for the recruitment of 6545 posts in Assistant Grade-III posts which was conducted by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) on behalf of FCI on 10th November and 11th November 2012.
The results are not yet out in view of large number of applications  and as a result of this SSC has postponed  paper II and paper-III which was scheduled on 6th January 2013.

Now, Paper-II and III of the aforesaid recruitment will be held on 3rd February 2013.

NOTE:

  • Paper I (held on 10th and 11th November 2012) will be used for shortlisting candidates for Paper II or III as the case may be, will be evaluated.
  • Only those candidates who qualify in the computer proficiency test (CPT) will be eligible to be considered for final selection.
  • Final selection will be on the basis of marks secured by candidates in Paper-I & II for the the post codes- A, B and D and will be on the basis of marks secured by candidates in Paper- I & III for post code-C.

As we all know,The Food Corporation of India (FCI) recruiting skilled category III personnel for manning posts in its depots and offices spread all over the country. Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Government of India, under special dispensation given by the Government has hold the first examination today i.e, 10 November 2012, second test for the same will be held tommorow i.e, 11 November 2012.

In this post we will discuss the detailed review about the exam to help the candidates to understand detailed pattern and level of the exam.

Pattern of the exam:
The written exam consists of the following sections:

  • General Intelligence- 50 Questions
  • General Awareness-50 Questions
  • Quantitative Aptitude-50 Questions
  • English Language-50 Questions

Each question carries 1 mark each and there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks. So mark your answer if you are sure about it.

Review of each section:

GENERAL INTELLIGENCE: This section was the easiest among all the sections. Questions were asked from topics like odd one out, Alpha-number series, coding-decoding, Set theory, Matrix based. Also few questions were asked from Non-verbal reasoning.

GENERAL AWARENESS: This section was also manageable as the questions were easy if one is aware of the basic information. So don’t worry about this section if you are prepared well.

QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE: Mostly students find the level of this section to be medium-difficult. Mostly questions were asked from Geometry section. Also there were 2 sets of Data interpretation which consists of 9 questions in all.

ENGLISH AWARENESS: This section was also very easy if one’s grammatical concepts are clear. Unseen passage was very easy (Direct Questions). Also there were some questions from sections like Sentence correction, Idioms, fill in the blanks. In all, this section was manageable.

The Food Corporation of India (FCI), wishes to recruit skilled category III personnel for manning posts in its depots and offices spread all over the country. Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Government of India, under special dispensation given by the Government, will hold an open examination on behalf of Food Corporation of India for recruitment to Grade III posts in General, Accounts, Depot and Technical cadres.

The candidates selected through this recruitment for posts in FCI will NOT have the status of Central Government Civilian Employees. As such they will not be eligible for benefit of age relaxation, etc., admissible to Central Government Civilian Employees in recruitments made by the Staff Selection Commission for Ministries/Departments/Attached and Subordinate offices under Government of India and will not be entitled to claim parity with Central Government Employees in any matter whatsoever.

Important Dates:
Registration closes on September 21, 2012.
Written Examination on November 11,2012.

Number of Vacancies: The tentative number of vacancies is 6545, which may vary. The posts are located in five zones of FCI namely, North, South, East, West and North-East zones. Allotment of candidates to different zones will be on merit-cum-option basis and thereafter candidates will be allotted for eligible posts based on their position in the order of merit for different posts and their options.

Pay Scale: Rs. 9300- Rs. 22940/-

Age Eligibility : Age should not be more than 27 yrs as on 1.8.2012.
Details of Reservation and age relaxation for SC, ST, OBC, Persons with disability and Ex-servicemen are available as per extant rules.

Application Fees: Candidates may pay the application fee of Rs 200/- only through State Bank of India either in the form of Challan or net banking.
Note that Application fee is not required for SC, ST,Ex-servicemen and PH and all women candidates.

Educational Qualification (as on August 1, 2012):

  1. For Assistant Grade III (General)- Graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized University with proficiency in the use of computers.
  2. For Assistant Grade III (Accounts)- Bachelor of Commerce from a recognized University with proficiency in the use of computers.
  3. For Assistant Grade III (Technical)- B.Sc. in agriculture or B.Sc. with any of the following subjects Botany/zoology/Microbiology/food science/ Bio-technology/Bi0-chemistry from a recognized university or B.Tech./BE in Food science/Food science and technology/Agricultural engineering/Bio-technology from a recognized University/an institution approved by AICTE. And one should also have proficiency in the use of computers.
