One of the most common questions that goes through a student’s mind is, “Do I have enough time to prepare?” And if the student is preparing for SBI PO 2014 exam, it becomes of paramount importance, primarily because there are only few days left for the exam. SBI PO exam preparation is a tough task but it can be accomplished with a some serious bit of practice and efforts.

Here, we would like to discuss some of the key things that you can do to enhance your preparation for SBI PO.

A) Marketing Aptitude, Banking Awareness, General Knowledge and Current Affairs

Marketing Aptitude is an important aspect of SBI PO exam. There will be 10 to 15 questions on this topic and it is easy to prepare for. Just look for some of the previous year papers to identify the kind of questions which get asked.

Questions on Banking Awareness are also very common. You need to quickly run through the history of the Indian banks and also the go through their current heads. Good knowledge of commonly used terms will also help a lot. For General Knowledge and Current Affairs, it is recommended that you are well versed with the events that have taken place in the last 6 months. That will give you the additional edge required to crack SBI PO.

Time to be given: Give about an hour everyday and go through the static & current general awareness.

We recommend you to go through our current affairs posts. CLICK HERE for current affairs posts.

B) Data Analysis and Interpretation

Any SBI PO exam aspirant is aware of what pie charts are and what bar graphs are. Where they lose out is when they take too much time to solve these questions. The most important idea for these questions is – you don’t need to calculate the answer. You need to approximate and eliminate the incorrect options. You will get to the answer a lot faster this way.

Topics to focus on: You should have good command on topics like Ratio, Percentage, and Average as in D.I. section mostly questions come on the basis of these topics.

Time to be given: Give 3-4 days completely to work on this section. This section can help you to increase your overall score.

C) Reasoning

Reasoning is probably the section that takes the most time. The best way to crack this section is to identify the sets that you should solve. Once you figure out a set, you will be able to solve all the questions involved in that particular set.

Topics to focus on: Syllogism, Data Sufficiency, Inequality or Decision Making, Seating Arrangement/ Puzzle Test, Input Output, Logical Reasoning. Data Analysis & Interpretation mainly contains, Pie Charts, Bar Diagrams, Tables, Graphs, Probability & Data Analysis.

Time to be given: 3 days are enough for this section. Divide time accordingly depending upon your weaker areas.

D) English Language

This is the section that you can run through very fast. The chances of making an error in this section are quite high. So while you are attempting this section, mark only the questions that you are sure of. Otherwise, you might end up with a below par score in this section because of negative marking.

Topics to focus on: Focus on English grammar & its deep concepts like verbs, adverbs, adjectives, noun, pronoun etc. And a good command on vocabulary would help you overcome the questions asked in the paper. The section will include Fill in the Blanks, Cloze Test, Common Error in Sentence, Para Jumbled & Passage Based questions

Time to be given: If you read English newspapers and the basics of grammar are clear then this section will be a cake walk. Still try to give 1-2 days for this section. Focus more on basics.

We strongly recommend you to learn the grammar part as much you can. If you are good at grammar, you can answer easily within less amount of time.

IMPORTANT TIP: It’s better to attempt first with that section on which you are very confident and you can attempt in a minimum time.
