Hyderabad, Jan. 30: Bank of Baroda will be hiring about 4,000 officers and clerks soon, according to its Chairman and Managing Director, Mr M. D. Mallya.
“This will cater to our major branch expansion plan during the next financial year and replacement of retired staff,” Mr Mallya told Business Line here.
The bank has plans to open over 500 branches in the next one year which would need manpower, he added.
The recruitment will be conducted on the basis on a common written exam being conducted by the Institute of Banking Personal Selection as part of an agreement it entered into with 19 banks.
On the credit off-take, Mr Mallya said the demand for loans is expected to go up once the interest rates begin to come down.
“As of now there is expectation that interest rates will come down. Further, higher liquidity with the banks is likely to make corporate loans cheaper,” he added.
FOCUS ON AFRICA
The bank, which has 87 branches/offices, is planning to step up its focus on the African region. “We see great business potential in countries such as Kenya,” he said. Bank of Baroda gets 25 per cent of its over Rs 6 lakh crore business from overseas. The number of overseas branches is likely to be ramped up to 100 in the next two quarters, he added.

If we think logically then yaar anoop galat nahi keh raha hai. ek tareekey se uski baat theek hee hai. If i would have been an engineer i would have applied for IT specialization in bank and not as general bank po.
@ Anoop I know you will escape without giving explanation. You said about disinvestment when we were discussing about job security for techies.
Can you elaborate with facts?
@Vikas, tere bap ko.

@ rahul, any way I completed my graduation degree @ my age of 20 & not like yu…ok
@deblina
They won’t ask u about yr bro’s profession.All that will matter is u should have obc non creamy certificate at time of interview issued from competant authority.They will check yr caste in the obc list of jharkhand state which is available at NCBC(NATIONAL COMMISSION OF BACKWARD CASTE) website and after that they will take yr interview.So don’t worry.And also don’t disclose yr bro’s professional details at interview jus tell them they r working with private firm.
dude now it companies are taking bsc and b.com for technical jobs.
@nishi, thanx 4 advise.

Hi Friends,
I want to know if the 25,000 vacancies in PO for 2012 is for the first six months in 2012 or the above said vacancies are supposed to be filled in the coming 12 months.
if it is going to be second one then it means that after six months the next IBPS PO
result will be declared. Hence banks going for PO recruitment after six months will
take only the cream layer of the second IBPS PO EXAM.
Which means only people above 175 in general category are going to be selected
from the first PO list. am i right or wrong?
Rote rah beta, tu zindagi bhar aise hi rote rahega
50% reservation represents 50% population
Tumhara to baap b isko hila nahi payega

For all SC candidates :-
Highest score in SC is 190
above 170 (score)= 60 candidates
180 to 190 = 7 candidates
175 to 180 = 15 candidates
170 to 175 = 38 candidates
these are only SC candidtes above 170
Source : I have checked score(marks) of all SC candidates by using Union Bank Of India’s list of candidates shortlisted for the interview.
i didnt counted the score below 170
@ baba ramdev… u r right. these ‘techies’ people strted to prepare entrance exam from thr 16-17 age. they only know to compete each othr. thr basic behaviour is to imitate thr fellows…ie; thr frinds strt goint to entrance coaching so they too strted, thr friend opted B.tech (iT), so he too selected IT. Thr friend selected Bank P.O, so now they too… due to thr these basic behaviour survive wtih thses people is very difficult. bks, they r creating unhealthy competetion every where. They hve good knowledge in maths & they just exploiting it. More over thr % of marks. Any idiot B.tech graduate will get 55% to 60% without any difficulty. so th banks must give up this % criteria in graduation (or) increase th B.tech/ B.engg graduation marks accordingly to apply in banks. Else it is a violation of fundamental right ‘equal opportunity to all’.
@John, but paid less thn Govt/PSU job.
