IBPS Recruitment 2012 : Specialist Officer Cutoffs Released
IBPS conducted the common written examination for recruitment of Specialist Officer (SOs) on 13th March 2012 for 19 participating banks. The IBPS exam targeted to recruit specialist officers in various fields like IT, Technical, Agriculture, Legal, Marketing, HR, etc. and also in Rashtrabhasha for the banks.

Now IBPS announced the cutoffs in two stages to become eligible for specialist officer post.These cutoffs will be applied-
(i) on standard scores in individual tests.
(ii) on Total Weighted Standard Score.
1)Standard Scores In Individual Test-Candidates have to score minimum of 24 marks(Gen) or 21 marks (SC/ST/OBC/PWD) in each section i.e. Reasoning,English Language,General Awareness,Quantitative Aptitude,Professional Knowledge.
2) Total Weighted Standard Score-The Total Weighted Standard Score (TWSS) can be calculated for candidates who qualified in the each individual test as per the cutoffs.
Total Weighted Standard Score can be calculated as-
Standard Scores obtained in [Reasoning + (½ English Language) + General Awareness/ Quantitative Aptitude + (1 ½ Professional Knowledge)]
Apart from scoring 24 marks(Gen) & 21 marks(SC/ST/OBC/PWD) in each test, candidated must have to score these cutoff marks to become eligible for specialist vacancies which is being announced by IBPS now.

I too support the stand for RTI
WHEN WILL BANK COME UP WITH MKT OFF VACANCY, IS THERE IS A VACANCY IN MKT OFF POST OR BANK IS MAKING FULL OF US.I HOPE BANK WILL SOON COME UP WITH VACANCY IN MKT POST.
I sent an e-mail to IBA regarding MKT OFFICER vacancies but did not get any reply.It is they who sent number of vacancies for mkt officer to IBPS and mandated them to conduct exam for this catagory.Since IBPS has no option of RTI so those willing to file RTI should file it with IBA.However,better to wait till Dec.2012
Recently I called to IBA regarding SO MKT Officer vacancies.They told me IBA is not concerned with this matter and advised me to contact IBPS.Since IBPS is unreachable I think candidates are left with only option of filing a PIL in Supreme Court and for this purpose they should form an association and fight unitedly against this cheating.Hon.SC may restrict IBPS from taking further exam for this catagory till this lot gets appointment.

You are right Atulya. Its high time to form an association against this fraud. I think it would be good to start a community in Facebook to have more people into it.
Forget Marketing job in bank. 7 month running and no vacancy till to date! These people wanted to collect money by increasing the number of participation. Banks have to recruit PO, Clerks and other cadre qualifiers. So how can now we expect in 5 months banks will even think of us? I guess, we have no judicial access in this matter and any1 thinking of going the RTI way would be futile.
I also think RTI option will not serve our purpose.There are two ways to tackle this matter:either file PIL in Hon. SC individually or unitedly or submit an apllication with CVC,New Delhi to investigate this fraud.Whereas Hon.SC can restrict IBPS from taking next exam for this category till present lot gets appointment, CVC will only investigate the matter and may take at least 6 months time.
if we search in this blog itself we could see lots of frustrated marketing people with their score cards waiting for more than 7 months with no notifications yet.So it has reached a high time to join together and file a joint PIL in the Supreme court against this fraud.Already, time is running short. In the meantime, is there anyone in this blog who has sought any information from RTI.

U r right joseph! Frustration at the highest level! If rejected after attending an interview would have been OK. But rejected without attending any!!! Lets get deep into this. lets file a PIL in the month of january and see how IBPS reacts to it.
Last time IBPS advertised for SO exams in December.This year too ad may come in next month.So best time to file PIL will be after the ad appears.IBPS may take stand by saying that it is only testing agency and has no role in appointment of candidates.There must be some solid contradiction for such stand.All Mkt candidates start thinking on this point before filing PIL and share your views.Every problem has a solution in itself.I will post my views after some of you post your point of views.

Hello,Ashok,Joseph,Sumitava,Ashutosh,Vipul and all concerned mkt guys I am awaiting your views on PIL option.It is necessary to have as many views as possible before filing PIL to be sure enough that it will be accepted by Hon. SC.
As you rightly told Atulya, we file a PIL after the notification of the next IBPS SO exam. That may happen probably in the month of December. By that time the picture would be clear regarding the agenda of IBPS with respect to conducting Marketing officer exams, whether the purpose is to just raise money or to provide opportunities for marketing guys.

Joseph,like timing of PIL,grounds for PIL is much more important to be admitted in Hon.SC and finally win the case.Moreover,we all know that sometimes courts even fine the appellant for filing PIL on flimsy grounds and wasting time of court.So, all concerned should start sharing their views to find solid grounds for PIL.Remember,we are to fight against a cash rich organisation which is mandated by govt. and all PSBs and RRBs and is capable of hiring highest paid advocates in addition to its own legal deptt.
Atulya, we are not filing PIL on flimsy grounds, because similar type of notifications was there for Clerks, POs and SOs ( other than Marketing Officer) from IBPS, but its only in our case only none of the banks has called for a single announcement yet.
One more thing to add at this point is regarding the recently concluded UGC NET exam, wherein as against the notification, at the time of announcement of Results, UGC went for a higher cut off marks for qualification. People unitedly fight against this from different corners of the country and finally UGC have to revise their cutoff and additionally put a supplementary list. You can check the same in UGC’s website. This can be cited as an instance where Court went in favour of Public Interest. In our case too this cant be considered as a situation where Court’s time is wasted.
Joseph,thanks for your comments.But,our case is different.First,we are to decide the party or parties against whom PIL is to be filed and then charges.NET is held not against number of vacancies referred to UGC by Universities,but IBPS takes exams against vacancies referred to it by PSBs and RRBs.So,IBPS can be asked in court to tell the court number of vacancies for this category and the source of it and same for their new ad.This information we can’t get through RTI.After that related PSBs will be included in the PIL.During hearing we can raise some very vital points.
These points are- while Govt. and PSBs come under RTI how can IBPS be out of its purview whereas it is mandated by both of them.Secondly,who are the beneficiaries of the money collected from lakhs of unemployed youths twice a year for PO,Clerk category and once a year for SO in PSBs and RRBs.All the beneficiaries are liable to be punished for looting 47 thousand applicants for this categories.IBPS will be totally overhauled by the outcome of this PIL.
