Click here to REGISTER YOUR PREFERENCES.
Before registering preferences go through the following points which will help you to make a better choice.
1. How many Banks can one prefer in the Order of Preference ?
One can register order of your preference for all the 20 Participating Banks & ECGC.
2. Can I give posting location preference?
There is no such thing in this selection process. Some websites misguiding the candidates by saying that you will have to give posting location preference also. This is absolutely wrong.
3. Which banks to choose among the participating Banks in IBPS PO 2012?
This is very common question among the IBPS PO 2012 passed candidates. While giving preferences, one has to think about salary & allowances and also about posting location.
- Salary: Salary and allowances are more or less same for all participating banks. So, no need to worry about that.
- Posting Location: It is best to choose banks which have more number of branches in your state. For example, In Andhra Pradesh, Andhra Bank have more number branches compare to others. It is the lead bank in many areas. So that your chances of posting in your state will be high. Similarly, State Bank of Travancore has more branches in Kerala than any other state. Keep this in mind so that you will be allotted the Bank of your region.
- PO has to work anywhere in country. There is policy that one has to work out of state for 3 years. It is better to go out of state in the early stage because it will be better for learning and thus for your career.
4. What is the allotment procedure for IBPS Bank PO 2012 with respect to preferences?
Allotment is based on three things- a) Vacancies, b) One’s preferences, & c) eligibility criteria set by the specific bank. Also, keep one thing in mind that in this process the seat allotment is completely based on the Merit Basis.
For Example:
- If 1st ranker opted for PNB and he has all the eligibility norms stipulated by PNB, then he will get PNB. If there are no vacancies in PNB or if he is not fit for eligibility criteria of PNB (Like age and Graduation %), his next preference will be considered for selection.
- In case of reserved candidates: If OBC candidate got marks above the General cutoff marks and his 1st preference is also satisfied in general vacancies, he will get allotment from General vacancy. If in his preferred bank, general vacancies are finished, he will be selected from OBC vacancies of respective bank (if there are any). If the OBC vacancies are also finished, then his next preference will be considered.
If you are still confused about the allotment process then leave all on IBPS. No need to worry more about the bank allotment process, the candidates will be made aware the allotment order list and procedure in detail after the final allotment list of banks have been published. There has been more transparency and the IBPS is striving hard continuously to implement a better recruiting system and let’s leave the rest to them.
5. What is the next step after allotment?
After allotment is done, final joining will be decided by the banks individually. They will call candidates to join bank whenever they want to absorb the candidates. It may take 2 to 6 months & will vary from bank to bank.
Please Note:
- Depending on the vacancies in each bank of one’s preference, a successful candidate will receive through a computerized system an offer from ONE of the participating PSB.
- Vacancies remaining unfilled on account of candidates declining offer, will be filled from among the remaining candidates through the same procedure as mentioned above. A waitlist will be prepared from among the remaining successful candidates which will be valid upto 31.03.2014 or allotment of the next round whichever is earlier.
- Candidates must produce the necessary documents in support of their identity and eligibility pertaining to nationality, age, educational qualification, qualifying marks, category etc.

@all, i just fail to understand how come educational eligibility criteria for PO/MT and clerk is same? Kya kar raha hai ibps?
@devil555, for Civil Services, Combined defense service, SSC graduate leve, Indian railway Station mastr etc; Qualification is any degree passed. & no one in our country will think tht a bank PO job is more than this jobs.
@VBN
Kya ab bhi roaster system wala reservation follow karega ibps?
ibps has nt replied to any of my mails… how is it that only few ppl received a reply??? wat is happening around so damn irritated with the system…
@all-ibps clearly replied -no change in cutoff so no single candidate is going to out from reallotmnt and if vacancy increased than some more candidatrs have chance otherwise wait for next couple of months
@all y u people taking ibps mail so seriously dey r saying dere vl b no change cutoff..bt wat kind of no change and in which cutoff ? bt the fact is ibps don’t declare ny cutoff to ny1..
@wnna b po, cut-off means, those who are allocated will be reallocated.
@all.. if ibps is not making big changes why re they taking so long to publish the results??does anybody know if there s any issue regarding reserved candidates alltment in ur category?
@priya13, th problem may be minor, but they hav to do evrything from begining. bks swapping is not possible & give extra care tht complanints should be avoid in future. Ibps told tht those who r allotd previously will be include in th reallotmnt. So thr is no issue regarding resrvation.
I don hv faith on dat mail id i cn bet it is using by sm fake preson.. the mistake is not a minor. there must b smthng big. Chalo maan liya ibps people nly doing reshuffling if no gen candidate got pnb n bob dat means nly reserve candidate got seats so now in reshuffling if gen candidates alloted those seats dn ye impossible hai ki sm reserve candidate who got banks in Frst allotment won’t loose bank.
@ all.if reservation is nt an issue then wht is the issue of reallotment..i am a bit worried as i am from obc but selected in ur category
Today FM-PSB Heads meeting took place, has any one have idea abt the conclusion of it regarding PO alotment. Now i am sure, something major is there in the prosess other wise it would nt have been much delayed. Bank must nt ask for any criteria but this gap between two allotments force us to think seriously.
It may b regarding quarterly review of economic policy…
They want rbi to reduce intrest rates…
as far as i heard it was more of a technical discussion about inflation and rates cause of the cyprus issue..
at this stage of the process they cannot add in extra criteria like 60% in graduation so that wont be a prob at all….those who r selected already can relax ull re gonna get a diff bank thts it…
Friends, right from the alotment date i m thinking, the process of intimating candidates by sms/mail is not good. It must be like prior results where we entered our reg/pasword & got the status. IBPS is somewhere doing new but its an old saying that being oversmart is harmful. Wel we r waiting waiting n just waiting, none is here to undrstand others emotion.
@VBN where r u my master ?
@priya13, u r right
@TERMINATOR, in FM-PSB Heads meeting they will nvr discuss a ‘silly’ matter(4 them) like recrtmnt. They will discuss big-big issues like how th govt can survive (financially)remaining yr & new ideas to squeeze tax payers,citizens & how to decrease population (increase suicide rate) by giving more loans to poor people etc;….
@ Terminator, By sending email/sms ibps’ idea is to intimate candidate about th allocation & allocatd bank. If not in future it’ll raise th complaints such as Ibps didn’t intimate me, so I miss my chance. By intimation we can prepare 4 th nxt step & expect th registrd post. if any delay we can contact th concerned allocated bank etc;
whats the meaning of “increase sucide rate” r they rly want it? Omg?
I think, entering reg/pword is more effective if we r alrdy said to check its website regularly. Moreover nowadays who stays wid single cell number as wel as email?
@TERMINATOR, not th habit of reading news paper? suppose u took an educational loan at th rate of 14% per annum (but car loan is only 8%) by pledging u r house/ property. & if u fail to repay th loan aftr some year, what will happend? th bank will use SARFAESI act. & u r game is over….
@TERMINATOR, how many of thm hav time like us to spend like this. & it was sure tht ibps defntly add tht link by entering…. but before it th allotmnt was canclld.
Ibps ke kya bat hai jo ek clear notification nahi nikalta hai lekin Mr director her ek candidate ke mail ka jabab dete hai . Aur hum faith Kate hai ha ha ha…..
@VBN HUMMMM, IN INDIA THERE R RLY LOT OF PROBLEM PERSIST.
@VBN one thing i rly forgot to say u, i hv bn thinking to say u dis from very begining.
so monday is wasted again!!
@vbn- bro stupid questn in ur opinion wen can we see ourselves in banks i mean working literally ??? :p
jbhunt, ibps will declare reallotmnt before 31/ march. the banks will send offr lttr before 25/april. From th date u getting offr lttr + minm.30 days u can join th bank.
@vbn are ppl of the obc category in the border line at threat??
@jbhunt wait bhai, raat abhi baaki hai. Waise bhi result abeyance ke baad se to meri neend ur gayi hai, abhi to raat bhar tanha baithna hai, kya karu is baar mujhe bhi lat lag gayi hai.
