IBPS PO-II Preferences Registration Open – Make Your Choice
Common Interviews for IBPS PO-II results has already been declared by IBPS. Now as decided IBPS will obtain order of preference of banks from the successful candidates through a registration process which will be starting from 20th February 2013. The registration process will go on till 28th February 2013.
Click here to REGISTER YOUR PREFERENCES.
Before registering preferences go through the following points which will help you to make a better choice.
1. How many Banks can one prefer in the Order of Preference ?
One can register order of your preference for all the 20 Participating Banks & ECGC.
2. Can I give posting location preference?
There is no such thing in this selection process. Some websites misguiding the candidates by saying that you will have to give posting location preference also. This is absolutely wrong.
3. Which banks to choose among the participating Banks in IBPS PO 2012?
This is very common question among the IBPS PO 2012 passed candidates. While giving preferences, one has to think about salary & allowances and also about posting location.
- Salary: Salary and allowances are more or less same for all participating banks. So, no need to worry about that.
- Posting Location: It is best to choose banks which have more number of branches in your state. For example, In Andhra Pradesh, Andhra Bank have more number branches compare to others. It is the lead bank in many areas. So that your chances of posting in your state will be high. Similarly, State Bank of Travancore has more branches in Kerala than any other state. Keep this in mind so that you will be allotted the Bank of your region.
- PO has to work anywhere in country. There is policy that one has to work out of state for 3 years. It is better to go out of state in the early stage because it will be better for learning and thus for your career.
4. What is the allotment procedure for IBPS Bank PO 2012 with respect to preferences?
Allotment is based on three things- a) Vacancies, b) One’s preferences, & c) eligibility criteria set by the specific bank. Also, keep one thing in mind that in this process the seat allotment is completely based on the Merit Basis.
For Example:
- If 1st ranker opted for PNB and he has all the eligibility norms stipulated by PNB, then he will get PNB. If there are no vacancies in PNB or if he is not fit for eligibility criteria of PNB (Like age and Graduation %), his next preference will be considered for selection.
- In case of reserved candidates: If OBC candidate got marks above the General cutoff marks and his 1st preference is also satisfied in general vacancies, he will get allotment from General vacancy. If in his preferred bank, general vacancies are finished, he will be selected from OBC vacancies of respective bank (if there are any). If the OBC vacancies are also finished, then his next preference will be considered.
If you are still confused about the allotment process then leave all on IBPS. No need to worry more about the bank allotment process, the candidates will be made aware the allotment order list and procedure in detail after the final allotment list of banks have been published. There has been more transparency and the IBPS is striving hard continuously to implement a better recruiting system and let’s leave the rest to them.
5. What is the next step after allotment?
After allotment is done, final joining will be decided by the banks individually. They will call candidates to join bank whenever they want to absorb the candidates. It may take 2 to 6 months & will vary from bank to bank.
Please Note:
- Depending on the vacancies in each bank of one’s preference, a successful candidate will receive through a computerized system an offer from ONE of the participating PSB.
- Vacancies remaining unfilled on account of candidates declining offer, will be filled from among the remaining candidates through the same procedure as mentioned above. A waitlist will be prepared from among the remaining successful candidates which will be valid upto 31.03.2014 or allotment of the next round whichever is earlier.
- Candidates must produce the necessary documents in support of their identity and eligibility pertaining to nationality, age, educational qualification, qualifying marks, category etc.

@all those who r in panic aftr gettng regression mail. A BANK OFFICER REAL LIFE: ”Today I will writing an emotional post for all puys. do not worry it is not the end of journey for me at pagalguy but I will try giving an insight into my experience in a bank like BOB. Please do not groan over this post because my personal experience can be ur story alsoWhen I joined on 15.12.2010 I was the most happiest person on earth for the reason that I had become an officer at the age of 22 and new opportunities would come to me as banking offers them all. Also I always wanted to make a career in finance as I am from commerce background. It was my own choice though my parents were a bit apprehensive as they knew that it is not safe for gals to move to another city and banking involves mobility. The day I joined , it was a ladies branch as many officers were ladies….
… I was too happy as I was given Delhi and that too a ladies branch. So the safety concerns vanished. Though my posting is not permanent in the said branch but yet I continue in the same branch. The Credit manager there is a lady and initally I was happy working under her. She came to know that I am gud typist so she gave me all the typing work relating to documentation. She used to sit with me and tell me that what ever I tell u fill in the blanks. Whenever I used to request her to allow me to sit in operations, she would allow that for an hour or so and citing compulsions on work front, she would call me back and then make me do all the incomplete work that her predeccessor had left for her since the month of september. She never explained me any of the concepts or logic behind what we are doing. Simply made me type. Next she also told me to take out documents relating to loans and update the computers with the date of documents and LAD i.e. Letter of Acknowledgement of Debt. I was happy with the work because I thought that now I know LAD and had read it. But in reality I was being made a fool3 months passed and this continued…
…The lady never taught me how to open a loan account. Neither did she explained it to me anything. I did not even know how to open a savings account. I was getting frustrated day by day. One day when I was fed up of her attitude, I went to the Chief Manager and told her that enought of typing. I am not here for typing as I am not a typist. This spoiled the relationship but I stood firm and now i sit in operations. Was I wrong? Though I and my credit manager r on talking terms, but yet I despise her for many things. I do not wish to complain futher for the reason that in other branches, I have heard many ppl are involved in wrong doings and do not treat ladies staff well and also because the branch is not that far from my place. But for how long will I keep compromising my learning for my safetyIn branches , nobody will take care of you as people are there to make u do ur entire work. There are a few ppl only who work and those who are getting retired will never work now. They say they have few months in retirement and have given innumerable no of services in the bank .Toilets are a big problems. They are not clean and in my branch some males also prefer to go in ladies toilet despite a big board that it is ladies loo.In my three months leaving aside 2 female officers, others used me for their own purpose.
….They will save u when u r in trouble but expect all yes from u in return even if what they are saying is a nonsense. There are very few gud ppl left in branhces. Some of my clerical staff has even remarked me that branches are not training centre.Internal politics is very much a part of bank. The so called unions, if u do not join for the reason of keeping away from politics , they will say why should we help u if u never joined our party.Alcohal is very rampant in banks. Both males and clerical staff drink in the absence of the Chief Manager and ladies staff. The reason of posting this is not to discourage u from joining a bank but to tell u whether u r working in ABC bank or any topmost bank, many ppl will force u to do wrong things and will make a puppet be it ladies or gents, please open ur eyes and work andtraining sessions give only technical skills but those skills are requird only 30-40 %.I may or may not be correct in my analysis of situation. If it is so, please forgive me but I am not at all discouraged and Only the zeal to learn more is making me survive . I hope the same does not happen with any other pagalguy. Also u all know my name but please do not share this story will any other senior employee of BOB as it can be very disastorous. the reason for writig all this to warn ppl that banking is not a bed of roses. Once u join, all pride and happines would vanish. I try giving my best in all works but if ppl around me fail to treat me responsibily so what should I do? Not wanting to stay for long in any bank”. – THE end

@vbn-dont demoralise anyone.Jindagi foolon ki sej nahi h.jaruri nahi h humein bhi bank me aisa mahol mile.aur hum bank me baithne aaram farmane nahi ja rahe.humein puri dignity k sath apna kaam karna h. Kisi k nokar nahi h ek po ki responsibility ko tab tak nibhayege jab tak is post ki dignity humein surakshit lagegi warna to kuchh bhi galat sahna galat karne se bada offense h to nahi sahege.
@maxx, dear we r still provisional candidates. but th above stories are real life of probationary officers. I just posted it bks, Some candidates are dying 4 getting some particular banks & some others r in panic tht they were not selected & feels tht this thr end of life.So atleast reading this stories at least we can clash with th realities like what is banking? & how is thr life & some girls r asking us whthr they r safe in Bank as a PO. now they can also reach in a conclusion tht wht to do next.
is it true dat canara bank is really pathetic..i was also alloted to canara bank..
@vbn-humein kisi bhi unsuccessfull candidate ko ye bol ke ki job me kitni botheration h,jhuti sahanubhuti nahi deni chahiye balki kuchh aisa post karna chahiye jo unhe motivate kare.this time very wrong approach of you but as usual you will stand for yourself although it is wrong.aur rahi baat girls ki to unhe abla nari samajhna ab band kar do wo har wo kaam kar sakti h jo hum kar saktf h aur kar bhi rahi h,aur meri samajh se bank ka mahol girls k liye behtar h,but as usual exception is evrrywhere.
@maxx, who told u tht they r unsuccessful?? ok now u search in th web & post some motivating stories of Bank POs. So others can thrill. I postd wht I got now it’s u r turn.
@maxx I appreciate ur view buddy.
