IBPS PO-II Preferences Registration Open – Make Your Choice
Common Interviews for IBPS PO-II results has already been declared by IBPS. Now as decided IBPS will obtain order of preference of banks from the successful candidates through a registration process which will be starting from 20th February 2013. The registration process will go on till 28th February 2013.
Click here to REGISTER YOUR PREFERENCES.
Before registering preferences go through the following points which will help you to make a better choice.
1. How many Banks can one prefer in the Order of Preference ?
One can register order of your preference for all the 20 Participating Banks & ECGC.
2. Can I give posting location preference?
There is no such thing in this selection process. Some websites misguiding the candidates by saying that you will have to give posting location preference also. This is absolutely wrong.
3. Which banks to choose among the participating Banks in IBPS PO 2012?
This is very common question among the IBPS PO 2012 passed candidates. While giving preferences, one has to think about salary & allowances and also about posting location.
- Salary: Salary and allowances are more or less same for all participating banks. So, no need to worry about that.
- Posting Location: It is best to choose banks which have more number of branches in your state. For example, In Andhra Pradesh, Andhra Bank have more number branches compare to others. It is the lead bank in many areas. So that your chances of posting in your state will be high. Similarly, State Bank of Travancore has more branches in Kerala than any other state. Keep this in mind so that you will be allotted the Bank of your region.
- PO has to work anywhere in country. There is policy that one has to work out of state for 3 years. It is better to go out of state in the early stage because it will be better for learning and thus for your career.
4. What is the allotment procedure for IBPS Bank PO 2012 with respect to preferences?
Allotment is based on three things- a) Vacancies, b) One’s preferences, & c) eligibility criteria set by the specific bank. Also, keep one thing in mind that in this process the seat allotment is completely based on the Merit Basis.
For Example:
- If 1st ranker opted for PNB and he has all the eligibility norms stipulated by PNB, then he will get PNB. If there are no vacancies in PNB or if he is not fit for eligibility criteria of PNB (Like age and Graduation %), his next preference will be considered for selection.
- In case of reserved candidates: If OBC candidate got marks above the General cutoff marks and his 1st preference is also satisfied in general vacancies, he will get allotment from General vacancy. If in his preferred bank, general vacancies are finished, he will be selected from OBC vacancies of respective bank (if there are any). If the OBC vacancies are also finished, then his next preference will be considered.
If you are still confused about the allotment process then leave all on IBPS. No need to worry more about the bank allotment process, the candidates will be made aware the allotment order list and procedure in detail after the final allotment list of banks have been published. There has been more transparency and the IBPS is striving hard continuously to implement a better recruiting system and let’s leave the rest to them.
5. What is the next step after allotment?
After allotment is done, final joining will be decided by the banks individually. They will call candidates to join bank whenever they want to absorb the candidates. It may take 2 to 6 months & will vary from bank to bank.
Please Note:
- Depending on the vacancies in each bank of one’s preference, a successful candidate will receive through a computerized system an offer from ONE of the participating PSB.
- Vacancies remaining unfilled on account of candidates declining offer, will be filled from among the remaining candidates through the same procedure as mentioned above. A waitlist will be prepared from among the remaining successful candidates which will be valid upto 31.03.2014 or allotment of the next round whichever is earlier.
- Candidates must produce the necessary documents in support of their identity and eligibility pertaining to nationality, age, educational qualification, qualifying marks, category etc.

yup u r totally rite maxx..
Yaaaar it is realy going to hurt any1 whetr person is from resrvd or unreservd..how they will face dere frnds and dere family will face relatives..
@maxx & ankur, don’t think tht anyone will lose th seat which he got in th 1st alltmnt. Sometimes bank may change. If a person 1 allotd but in th reallotmnt he is not allocatd. it will lead to legal complication & th credibility of th ibps will lose. so don’t be panic.
IBPS sabji picture kab release karega aapppppp??
@vbn-agar bank change hoti h to cutoff bhi badlegi bhai, jaisa kuchh toppers candidates ko unki first two preference wali bank nahi mili while they are in top 500,aisa lagta h ki ibps ne ur category me pahle reserved category k un logo ko seat di h jo ur me aate h.aur ab merit k base pe bank aloot karege to toppers generals ko first preference bank allot hogi fir reserved category k candidates ko unki first prefrnc jo mostly bob aur pnb h, unki respective category me milegi jisse clearly reserved category k candidates ko nuksaan hoga specially who are at border.

@ all : acc to bankersadda recent article “Some of the candidate, who are border line cases and have been allocated banks, may lose allotment. Such candidates should be mentally prepared for this” How is this possible ??
For reserved category candidates this movie is going to be most horrible ever.me too obc got allahabad bank 3rd preference.and i know, in reallotmnt i would be given a bank of below than 3rd preference.

General candidates have no reason to worry about.i am sure.
@max yar its so bad ki tum ye sochte ho ki log chate h ki dusro ka na ho or mera ho jaye..m frm general got 61. 52..mera nahi hua bt mane kabi nahi socha ki realotment me mra ho jaye or dusro ka na ho
And resrved candidates having 55 got d seat bt 61 general ka nahi hua..genral candidates ke lea realotment ek hope to get d seat bt i knw its vry bad fr those jinhe seat mil gai thi.
@ankita-dear i am talking about the people around our locality who have jealousness, seeing us to grow.
@puneetk, thr is degree % criteria. but thr is also a high chance tht u’ll lose pnb. bks, in u r catgry thr r 352 people who scored more thn 63.2. But in PNB thr is only 178 total(Sc-52) vacancies. Do u think tht PNB= RBI, so tht u’ll work only 4 PNB?? Rest is u r luck.
@ ravisingh, but who r in border line don’t be panic. they will surely allotd new banks with in 2-3 mnths..
maxx, mamraj & all,…2. Cancellation is due to Individual Bank Percentage Criteria Implementation: Lot of people are discussing that allotment cancellation is due to individual bank percentage criteria which was not implemented during last allocations process. There is no truth in that. IBPS has already clarified that there will be no filter criteria on the part of individual banks. It is a common recruitment process (IBPS PO 2) and all banks will abide by the eligibility criteria mentioned in CWE PO 2 Notification, which says – “A degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.” So, be assured that, banks will not implement individual educations qualification at any stage.–

@to all,… 3. Why Allotment Cancellation: As per our information and sources, allotment cancellation has been done due to technical problems in the allotment process. Allotment of banks was an automated process – done using a software algorithm – on the basis of merit-cum-preference basis. A flaw in the algorithm of this software resulted in wrong allocations for some candidates.-
from bankers adda……… VBN ROCKS
@all… who r in border line….
4. Will the allocations change now: Yes, banks allocated to some of the candidates will change. But, as per our analysis, it should remain same for most of the candidates. Some of the candidate, who are border line cases and have been allocated banks, may lose allotment. Such candidates should be mentally prepared for this. Although, we feel such candidates, who are not allocated a banks in new allotment should not be that disappointed, as these candidates will effectively go into waiting list, and whenever IBPS conducts next iteration for the allotment (of the basis of fresh vacancies in PSU Banks), these candidates will be the first one to get a bank.
In fact, there will be many candidates who will not finally join after allotment, as they might have already joined a bank or other organization or might have gone ahead with higher education. In such cases, wait-listed candidates will be called and they might get a bank of their choice.
6. When will the new allocations declared: The new Bank Allocation for IBPS 2 qualified candidates should be out by Monday. Although, IBPS is trying to finish it as early as today or tomorrow.

@vbn….i knw thr is chance that i’ll nt get pnb again….bt m worried more abt the allotment….whether i’ll get a job or nt…m more concerned abt it….
@ puneetk. u idiot aftr gettng 63.2 u r worrying of tht u’ll be allocattd or not? Th general ctgry cutoff of was 62.16. thn how th reallotmnt will gona affct u (SC-63.2). pls tell me tht whthr u r placed UNDR UR/SC. & u r least scored section wise cutoff mark?
ibps shud learn from a normal college/schools hw to allocate seats considering all d parameters. Our admission process in colleges/schools is much much better than this. This mess wud hav been avoided if ibps wud hav provided rankings or merit list.
@devil555, & more ovr our schools & colleges r allocating seats manually…
