Common Interviews for IBPS PO-II results has already been declared by IBPS. Now as decided IBPS will obtain order of preference of banks from the successful candidates through a registration process which will be starting from 20th February 2013. The registration process will go on till 28th February 2013.
Click here to REGISTER YOUR PREFERENCES.
Before registering preferences go through the following points which will help you to make a better choice.
1. How many Banks can one prefer in the Order of Preference ?
One can register order of your preference for all the 20 Participating Banks & ECGC.
2. Can I give posting location preference?
There is no such thing in this selection process. Some websites misguiding the candidates by saying that you will have to give posting location preference also. This is absolutely wrong.
3. Which banks to choose among the participating Banks in IBPS PO 2012?
This is very common question among the IBPS PO 2012 passed candidates. While giving preferences, one has to think about salary & allowances and also about posting location.
- Salary: Salary and allowances are more or less same for all participating banks. So, no need to worry about that.
- Posting Location: It is best to choose banks which have more number of branches in your state. For example, In Andhra Pradesh, Andhra Bank have more number branches compare to others. It is the lead bank in many areas. So that your chances of posting in your state will be high. Similarly, State Bank of Travancore has more branches in Kerala than any other state. Keep this in mind so that you will be allotted the Bank of your region.
- PO has to work anywhere in country. There is policy that one has to work out of state for 3 years. It is better to go out of state in the early stage because it will be better for learning and thus for your career.
4. What is the allotment procedure for IBPS Bank PO 2012 with respect to preferences?
Allotment is based on three things- a) Vacancies, b) One’s preferences, & c) eligibility criteria set by the specific bank. Also, keep one thing in mind that in this process the seat allotment is completely based on the Merit Basis.
For Example:
- If 1st ranker opted for PNB and he has all the eligibility norms stipulated by PNB, then he will get PNB. If there are no vacancies in PNB or if he is not fit for eligibility criteria of PNB (Like age and Graduation %), his next preference will be considered for selection.
- In case of reserved candidates: If OBC candidate got marks above the General cutoff marks and his 1st preference is also satisfied in general vacancies, he will get allotment from General vacancy. If in his preferred bank, general vacancies are finished, he will be selected from OBC vacancies of respective bank (if there are any). If the OBC vacancies are also finished, then his next preference will be considered.
If you are still confused about the allotment process then leave all on IBPS. No need to worry more about the bank allotment process, the candidates will be made aware the allotment order list and procedure in detail after the final allotment list of banks have been published. There has been more transparency and the IBPS is striving hard continuously to implement a better recruiting system and let’s leave the rest to them.
5. What is the next step after allotment?
After allotment is done, final joining will be decided by the banks individually. They will call candidates to join bank whenever they want to absorb the candidates. It may take 2 to 6 months & will vary from bank to bank.
Please Note:
- Depending on the vacancies in each bank of one’s preference, a successful candidate will receive through a computerized system an offer from ONE of the participating PSB.
- Vacancies remaining unfilled on account of candidates declining offer, will be filled from among the remaining candidates through the same procedure as mentioned above. A waitlist will be prepared from among the remaining successful candidates which will be valid upto 31.03.2014 or allotment of the next round whichever is earlier.
- Candidates must produce the necessary documents in support of their identity and eligibility pertaining to nationality, age, educational qualification, qualifying marks, category etc.

@mamraj, Even IBPS director told tht thr is no degree % criteria in ibps po2 allotmnt… thn wht??
ya @mamraj i kno that ki allotment can not b cancel by the banks on the basis of %age in grad..allotment can be cancelled only in verification and probation period..
dekho vbn bhai apn much nei kr skte . sirf yha bakwas kr skate hai . …aur dear apn sirf view d rhe h …mere according finance ministery k rule follow honge
wo to tab hi confirm hoga jb …allotment hoga
@mamraj, finance ministr instruction aney ki badh hi SBI PO notification aya tha. Iski badh hi IBPS common interview ke liye bulvaya tha. In a notification a criteria is fixed tht’s fixed & no organisation has to right to add or less to it. it’s constitutional. In previous year aftr ibps PO exam, banks issued seprate notification tht creatd th issue. but this year th situation is totaly diffrnt….
one of the officials from ibps confirmed that there wont be any major changes…source-banking sites
I still not rcvd any mail from ibps about reallotment..
@ankur2570, me too only got a SMS. no email
i have changed the number..so totally dependent on emails…
I think changes r mainly in top prefferd banks..
@ankur-wat i think is if there will be no major change than why does it take time.
No one got mail everyone got msg only
@maxx, to ensure tht Reallotmnt is perfect & no more complaints. So to check evry thing need time.
@maxx-one more thing was dere that wid in two more days allotment wil b done..
I dont kno whatz going on ..but trying to grab knowledge about dis from difrnt sources..
@vbn- did u mean they r making experiments over us..:)
Waise dk baat ye bhi h ki agar % ka panga hota to aisa nahi ho sakta ki bank heads ko pata na ho ki ibps % ko mention kar rahi h ya nahi aur agar wo chahte to pahle hi discuss kar lete.
Mujhe lagta h ki bank ne pahle un reserve candidates ko banks allot ki h jo ur category me aate h on the basis of combined score jisse general csndidates kam ho gaye.agar merit k base pe banks allot karte to kayi reserved candidates vacancy full ho jane ki wajah general ke barabar score hote huye bhi apni respective category me chale jate jisse general candidates ko aur chance milta aur top general c top banks me jada jagah pateandidates
agar aisa h to reserved candidates k liye musibat ho sakti h.
@maxx,ranbir,
First of all congratulation for ur selection.I saw your post regarding low scorers that banks are not interested to hire low scorer candidates.
Selection depends on various factors. So u guys can’t underestimate po 2 scorers.
Also I think calculation of combine score ;ratio of 80:20 is totally unfair b’coz it means there is no value of interview score.
For eg. If among two candidate 1st candidate got 195 in written and 55 in interview then his combine score as per ibps is -(195/250 *80) + (55/100 *20)= 73.4
Another candidate who has 170 written score and interview score 80 then his combine score is – (170/250 *80) + (80/100 *20)= 70.4
So frnds I just want to drag attention all of yours to notice that in above calculation both have secured same total no.i.e 250 and if we calculate avg. then then they have secured same score i.e 71.4 but as per IBPS calculation there is a difference in there no.
So please raise this issue that calculation must be made on average basis not as per 80:20 ratio.
Please raise your voice it may help us to get allotment.
waise ibps ne status change krne ka kya logic h…abhi 15 min pehle dikhaya completed fir dikaya abeyance ab fir completed..:)
gajab ibps
There are a lot of candidates having rank under500 but didnt get their first two preference ie-pnb and bob…why?????? because ibps allotted that vacancies to reserved candidates first and as we know most candidates filled their first two preference as pnb and bob so most of vacancies werefilled with those reserved cum ur candidates.
So banks head had an issue…
At last it seems to me that candidates at the border line are in danger.
@deepika-i never underestimate the lower score bcoz i too was in ibps 1 but wat i want to say is,top banks want to recruit toppers.it’s natural
Agar reserved candidates ko reallotmnt me lower preference wali bank mile to samajh lena yahi hua h jo mene bola h.so reserved candidates only have reason to worry about.me too obc with62.32
@max: in danger” as in???? D cutoffs myt increase???
Tho I can assure that it won’t….. successful candidates wud aab realoitd d banks.only those falling under RESrvd n hvng Ben allotted an UNResrvd seat my Hv a reason to worry a bit…
@maxx, ‘aisa nahi ho sakta ki bank heads ko pata na ho ki ibps % ko mention…’ it’s illogical. go & search th webpage of ibps, the board of directors. u’ll get th answer.
Yestrday evng sbi associates declared final result, so hope some vl jump dat side…
Wah kya allotment kiya ibps ne. Itne time me to manually kr lete to bhi thek ho jata.
mene to suna tha “to err is human” but ibps ne to “to err is computer” kr diya:-):)
