IBPS PO-II Preferences Registration Open – Make Your Choice
Common Interviews for IBPS PO-II results has already been declared by IBPS. Now as decided IBPS will obtain order of preference of banks from the successful candidates through a registration process which will be starting from 20th February 2013. The registration process will go on till 28th February 2013.
Click here to REGISTER YOUR PREFERENCES.
Before registering preferences go through the following points which will help you to make a better choice.
1. How many Banks can one prefer in the Order of Preference ?
One can register order of your preference for all the 20 Participating Banks & ECGC.
2. Can I give posting location preference?
There is no such thing in this selection process. Some websites misguiding the candidates by saying that you will have to give posting location preference also. This is absolutely wrong.
3. Which banks to choose among the participating Banks in IBPS PO 2012?
This is very common question among the IBPS PO 2012 passed candidates. While giving preferences, one has to think about salary & allowances and also about posting location.
- Salary: Salary and allowances are more or less same for all participating banks. So, no need to worry about that.
- Posting Location: It is best to choose banks which have more number of branches in your state. For example, In Andhra Pradesh, Andhra Bank have more number branches compare to others. It is the lead bank in many areas. So that your chances of posting in your state will be high. Similarly, State Bank of Travancore has more branches in Kerala than any other state. Keep this in mind so that you will be allotted the Bank of your region.
- PO has to work anywhere in country. There is policy that one has to work out of state for 3 years. It is better to go out of state in the early stage because it will be better for learning and thus for your career.
4. What is the allotment procedure for IBPS Bank PO 2012 with respect to preferences?
Allotment is based on three things- a) Vacancies, b) One’s preferences, & c) eligibility criteria set by the specific bank. Also, keep one thing in mind that in this process the seat allotment is completely based on the Merit Basis.
For Example:
- If 1st ranker opted for PNB and he has all the eligibility norms stipulated by PNB, then he will get PNB. If there are no vacancies in PNB or if he is not fit for eligibility criteria of PNB (Like age and Graduation %), his next preference will be considered for selection.
- In case of reserved candidates: If OBC candidate got marks above the General cutoff marks and his 1st preference is also satisfied in general vacancies, he will get allotment from General vacancy. If in his preferred bank, general vacancies are finished, he will be selected from OBC vacancies of respective bank (if there are any). If the OBC vacancies are also finished, then his next preference will be considered.
If you are still confused about the allotment process then leave all on IBPS. No need to worry more about the bank allotment process, the candidates will be made aware the allotment order list and procedure in detail after the final allotment list of banks have been published. There has been more transparency and the IBPS is striving hard continuously to implement a better recruiting system and let’s leave the rest to them.
5. What is the next step after allotment?
After allotment is done, final joining will be decided by the banks individually. They will call candidates to join bank whenever they want to absorb the candidates. It may take 2 to 6 months & will vary from bank to bank.
Please Note:
- Depending on the vacancies in each bank of one’s preference, a successful candidate will receive through a computerized system an offer from ONE of the participating PSB.
- Vacancies remaining unfilled on account of candidates declining offer, will be filled from among the remaining candidates through the same procedure as mentioned above. A waitlist will be prepared from among the remaining successful candidates which will be valid upto 31.03.2014 or allotment of the next round whichever is earlier.
- Candidates must produce the necessary documents in support of their identity and eligibility pertaining to nationality, age, educational qualification, qualifying marks, category etc.

@VBN
Thnx 4ur rply..but still me confused bcz most of people r saying that Roaster system of reservation will be followed in ibps po2..in ds sys if a reserved candidate crosses gen cat cut off and he hadnt used any relaxtation dn he would be alloted gen category seat.
Only God and Ibps knw wat will happen?
But thnx vbn 4ur motivation.
all dear wo uske internal source hai .wo bank PO hai already hai .ham.sirf hope kr skte h ki esa ho jaye
mamraj bhai kiss bank ka po he or kab aaygi ye vaccancies
@vipul jha, those people supporting roaster systm may be low markd resrvd candidates. they r calming thmself by telling so. nvr mind it. Am preparing 4 bank exams 4 th past two yrs. so i clearly know wht going on. Even in th application & notifications it clearly show tht no change in Category is not possible latr. If roastr systm is follwing how it is possible? wht u read in th SBI PO notif. is follwed by ibps & banks.
@vipul jha, if u want to convince urself. search & findout UBI final selected candidates (before 2012) list from net.
bob PO hai
Aur may be issi k sath add hokar aaye
vbn aapko abi reservation k rule pta nei hai .
yr hadd hi ho gai…kab hogi allotments……..its rly irritating…… :(
yaar itna kyu fase ho reservation me thode tim me sab clear ho jayga
i think reservation ko lekar kaafi confusion hai..bt i wll lyk to add its unreserved seat nt the general..so it wud occupied by all the candidate who cums in top of the merit list..den the low rankers wll avail the reseved seat if having reservation benefit..bt if the reseved candidate gets less tgan 24 in any section..even if he scores gud marks wll b considered for reserved category seat..
Vbn sahib aap k hisaab se to indirectly gen ka bhi reservation hi ho gaya.hahahaha aap log po banne ja rahe ho.kuchh to commonsense use karo.
And this is official announcemnt chidambaram is going to meet all the head of psu bank and other banking organisation for talking about performance of banks in this financial year and about financial inclusion in rural areas so may be banks are going to open some more branches.idbi officially announced sbout the opening of new branches and about 2000recruitment in next financial year2013-14.both news are from a very renowned newspaper buissnessline of 8th march.
@Maxx: good news….new hope for low scorers………
@Mamraj: U also gave good news….I dont know this is true or not but it makes us happy…..& this is the main things for us to always be happy & live every moment of life…………..aise hi achi -2 news dete raho bhale hi sach ho ya na ho…fir tab tak allotment result b aa jayega friends…………..
@maxx.. aap bhi sara commonsence use karo. Thum log resrvation ki andar reservation ki bath kar rahe ho. out of 22450 vacancies already divided according to reservation criteria. bhir bhi usmeim reservation nahi kar pavungey. If roaster system is applying all these 22450 will be considered General vacancy & a suplimntry list (for reserved catgry) will be published. but no bank is publishing supplimntry list (n’t waiting list). this (roaster system) method is follwd in state psc like TN & kerala.
@maxx, while fillng online application ibps/banks first question is regarding Categry. from tht point our application is dividing according to th categry wise. th banks will allow us to attend th interview if we miss any of th documnt (by signing a declaration), except caste certificate. If caste certificate is missng they will nvr allw yu 2 attend th interview. why? bks, they r consodring us 4 tht particular catgry.
yaha pe sabki halat
us pandit ki tarah hai jise apne
future ka pta nahi aur dusre ki
bhavisayawani krta fir rha hai
@maxx, for example…

@vbn-dear cast certificate is necessary bcoz how can they com to know whether candidate belongs to the category he or she opt for.
And category is for making the whole merit list so if anyone claims for other category, it may cause of a big chaos in merit list.
@vbn- dear m jst asking to you that if you were right than isn’t it like the absurd general reservation and if noone other than general candidate can come under this category then why dont they name it general…why they call it UNRESERVED
@Max: I agree….
