IBPS PO-II Preferences Registration Open – Make Your Choice
Common Interviews for IBPS PO-II results has already been declared by IBPS. Now as decided IBPS will obtain order of preference of banks from the successful candidates through a registration process which will be starting from 20th February 2013. The registration process will go on till 28th February 2013.
Click here to REGISTER YOUR PREFERENCES.
Before registering preferences go through the following points which will help you to make a better choice.
1. How many Banks can one prefer in the Order of Preference ?
One can register order of your preference for all the 20 Participating Banks & ECGC.
2. Can I give posting location preference?
There is no such thing in this selection process. Some websites misguiding the candidates by saying that you will have to give posting location preference also. This is absolutely wrong.
3. Which banks to choose among the participating Banks in IBPS PO 2012?
This is very common question among the IBPS PO 2012 passed candidates. While giving preferences, one has to think about salary & allowances and also about posting location.
- Salary: Salary and allowances are more or less same for all participating banks. So, no need to worry about that.
- Posting Location: It is best to choose banks which have more number of branches in your state. For example, In Andhra Pradesh, Andhra Bank have more number branches compare to others. It is the lead bank in many areas. So that your chances of posting in your state will be high. Similarly, State Bank of Travancore has more branches in Kerala than any other state. Keep this in mind so that you will be allotted the Bank of your region.
- PO has to work anywhere in country. There is policy that one has to work out of state for 3 years. It is better to go out of state in the early stage because it will be better for learning and thus for your career.
4. What is the allotment procedure for IBPS Bank PO 2012 with respect to preferences?
Allotment is based on three things- a) Vacancies, b) One’s preferences, & c) eligibility criteria set by the specific bank. Also, keep one thing in mind that in this process the seat allotment is completely based on the Merit Basis.
For Example:
- If 1st ranker opted for PNB and he has all the eligibility norms stipulated by PNB, then he will get PNB. If there are no vacancies in PNB or if he is not fit for eligibility criteria of PNB (Like age and Graduation %), his next preference will be considered for selection.
- In case of reserved candidates: If OBC candidate got marks above the General cutoff marks and his 1st preference is also satisfied in general vacancies, he will get allotment from General vacancy. If in his preferred bank, general vacancies are finished, he will be selected from OBC vacancies of respective bank (if there are any). If the OBC vacancies are also finished, then his next preference will be considered.
If you are still confused about the allotment process then leave all on IBPS. No need to worry more about the bank allotment process, the candidates will be made aware the allotment order list and procedure in detail after the final allotment list of banks have been published. There has been more transparency and the IBPS is striving hard continuously to implement a better recruiting system and let’s leave the rest to them.
5. What is the next step after allotment?
After allotment is done, final joining will be decided by the banks individually. They will call candidates to join bank whenever they want to absorb the candidates. It may take 2 to 6 months & will vary from bank to bank.
Please Note:
- Depending on the vacancies in each bank of one’s preference, a successful candidate will receive through a computerized system an offer from ONE of the participating PSB.
- Vacancies remaining unfilled on account of candidates declining offer, will be filled from among the remaining candidates through the same procedure as mentioned above. A waitlist will be prepared from among the remaining successful candidates which will be valid upto 31.03.2014 or allotment of the next round whichever is earlier.
- Candidates must produce the necessary documents in support of their identity and eligibility pertaining to nationality, age, educational qualification, qualifying marks, category etc.

Well u appreciated it, kind forward this statement to the possible limits so that it can protect people & save ur Nation in true sense. In india there is single reason behind poverty & that is just the exploitation by such devil organisations.
@ Terminator, u r only one in out of 46200 ibps po 2 passed candidate & do u think tht th rest 20 lakhs (ibps po 2 failed candidates/ not attended) will support yu?. This will be th answer of LIC also. they will also include tht LIC is giving new oppurtunty to those who r failed in ibps po 2 & new/not attended candidates too..
Some people are still illiterate after doing all educations, they have even cleared many national level exams like IBPS & all but they never spared time to educate themselves morally or spiritually. Their reaction proved that neither they r educated nor they can be so ! Co operation among just themselves is the ultimate goal of their education. First proud to be human then be an indian, u will feel much relaxed. Hence i strongly appeale to my collegues to carry these 750 seats of LIC for them if they really have guts, i myself shall try to publish it in leading national newspapers shortly
@all thanks..hey shiv cngrts to u too..bro it doesn’t matter all are nationalized banks some are large some r mid n some r small psu banks having same salary package little bit difference in perks n benefits.i could not find any reason y not uco….very good promotion opportunities(source- someone who worked over dere for last 10 yrs)and I could not wait for another 2 months..even if ibps alotted banks before 15th we ll appointment letter in mid april so joining will be in may.In govt sector even 1 day seniority matters a lot.
@terminator, frnd understnd tht even this national news papers are the real agents of this big nationalised corporates. They r getting large sum of funds from this organi. like adds, notifications etc;. So do U think tht they will pubish/support u?. It’s all business man & do yu know wht is really banking?
@VBN Rest r not 20 lacs, just go to correct data. And read ur own earlier comments, where was ur emotions for passed candidates? Now u r jumping like football & writing my name again & again with ur foolish words. Just stay away from me, if possible then consider common mass & even those children of india who r still to land on competitive world. What do u think will u ammend the system after thinking only abt these 20 lacks(u dont have even proper data)? Being a true citizen u should be dedicated to many factors that influences growth & development. If u have still confusion then u r rly not able to work even as a clerk, just start preparing for other things.
4 wt d hell u r fighting for….evry1 vl get alotment acc. 2 u der marks

@anushri – warm welcome to you congrats and yeah 1 hell of a decision!
@ashi, who told u tht we r fighting each othr?? we r just expressing our ideas tht’s all.
@ anushri, with this score ECGC is very hard 2 get & wht’s th speaciality in ECGC?
Nauhwar….
From where u belong to…
@VBN: In ECGC, u will get 35K salary…which is much more compare to other nationalise banks….
I also think that there should be a common exam for all banking & Insurance related sectors….It will save our money & time…
@ shiv…I belong to uttar pradesh.
@nishesh.singh,in ECGC salary is not 35000/-.it’s 29000/-. & job profile is also diffrnt from bank po. uhve to promote thr insurance products to customers (exporters). So it may be like pure marketing/ target oriented.
@Terminator,
I agree with you.
VBN is a overconfident guy.Talking rubbish since begining. So I request you don;t listen to VBN.Just ignore him.
@ Terminator.. do yu know th total number of candidates applied in IBPS PO 1? It’s 14 lakhs. do u know total number of candidates applied in FCI exam 2013 in it’s 15 lakhs. do yu know th total number of candidates applied in SSC CGL2013 it’s more thn 17 lakhs. U compared th total number of candidate who applied only in IBPS PO2. But I compared th data with th whole indian eligible graduate. I’m not trying to ammend any system & i clearly know tht wht LIc is doing is not fare. But u r opprtunity is not only confined with LIC. thr r lot of organisations those r conducting exam not for making profit. U can try for thm. They r..
CSAT (UPSC)- fee rs 50/-(vacancy-1000)
railway- rs 60/-
CGL-13 (ssc)- rs 100/- (vacancy-10000)
fci (ssc)- rs 200/-
etc;
thn why u r dying on LIc (only 700 vacancies)
@terminator, and about confusion, I couldn’t undrstnd wht yu mean. about th correctness of data, now u know tht who is conducting exams for RBI & SBI….am i right?
@ Terminator and all,
Good morning dear,
I am fully supporting your thought of uniting together for the sake of nation building and saving the innocent hardworking candidates from the heat of money making organization at each and every steps.
But dear Terminator, you are disguising your fellows in attaining your goal, in practicality every major step requires many minor steps in synchronization so that the plan you had prepared should execute accordingly with greater base to provide solid foundation. So wait for some time, definitely one day other organizations will also becomes the part of this IBPS recruitment process.
LIC authorities have full autonomy in conducting their recruitment exam, no one can force them to becomes a part of other organization for their recruitment process. But anyone can request them to lower the application fees and it should be lowered for the benefit of each and every desirous candidate.
IBPS is itself a profit making organization…… it is making money by both hands from the banks and the candidates. In case of PO-1 exam both ibps and individual banks had demanded money from the candidates. But in PO-2 only ibps is taking, here true sense of Public Sector Banks comes to realization.
So dear Terminator and all of us wait for evolutionary process of betterment of recruitment process. It will change definitely with time and requirements.
And last but not least, this is a social blog, express your ideas in a manner that helps to each other in gaining some useful knowledge and paves the way to success.
@perry…… correct yar.
Wow …..Nice dicussion….
But point is still there….when dey r going to announce d results? Any idea?
I will call them up tomorrow….
Hi Nauhwar….cud u pls give ur contact no…..
@pandey ji… no idea. but we can guess… to evaluate 9 lakhs candidates omr sheet ibps took only 3 months. to decalre th interview result of 60000 candidates thy took less thn 10 days. so, an easy process like allocation of 22000+ candidates, compare to th above process they need lss thn 5 days…am i right?
@deepika, darling wht wrong with u?? wht i told is only facts.. & nvr intend to hurt any one. u don’t worry u’ll be placed before march/14 like terminator by ibps po 2.
