IBPS conducted the first Common Written Examination (CWE) for recruitment of bank clerks for 19 Public Sector Banks in November / December 2011, in which 43 lakh aspirants registered, approximately 35 lakh candidates appeared, and 5.31 lakh were declared successful.

In the past, it was declared by IBPS, that they will conduct IBPS Clerk CWE twice a year, but unlike PO CWE, it doesn’t seem to happen as there is no notification regarding the second IBPS Clerk.

We are also receiving several queries from our readers, where candidates are anxious about the date for next ibps clerical exam. Calls made to IBPS helpline also didn’t provide any robust answer. We now expect that IBPS is going to conduct the IBPS CWE Clerical 2012 Exam in November just like last year i.e. after an interval of an year, which also makes sense, given the slow pace at which the 19 banks are completing their recruitment from the passed candidates of IBPS clerk 2011.
