IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) has changed the way bank exams are conducted in India. IBPS now conducts a common written exam (CWE) for PO selection in 19 participating PSU banks in India. These exams got tremendous response with over 7.5 Lakh applicants in IBPS PO / MT Exam held on 17 June, 2012. Federal Bank to hire 3,000 over two years…
Old generation private sector bank Federal Bank is looking to hire about 3,000 personnel over the next two years. This recruitment is aimed at supporting the substantial branch expansion plan as well as to replace the large retiring workforce, said Mr Shyam Srinivasan, Managing Director and CEO.
The plan is to increase the branch network from the current 833 to 940 by March and to 1,000 by June. Also, about 800-900 people are expected to retire in 2012, thereby making it necessary to hire more staff, Mr Srinivasan said.
“Assuming an average of five personnel a branch, our recruitment will be huge,” Mr Srinivasan said.
The bank hired about 1,400 personnel in the current year and would look to hire a similar number next year as well.
The hiring will through campus recruitment, tie-ups with professional organisations such as the CA institute and exams conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection.
The bank is hiring 48 specialised agricultural officers to beef up its agri lending business.
Recently, the bank received about 14,000 applications for 500-600 posts of Manager and Senior Manager, which were advertised online, Mr Srinivasan said.
Despite being headquartered in Kerala, a State known for its strong trade union culture, Federal Bank has not faced any issues with regard to its staff.
“We are not doing anything like creating a new cadre. Some of the other organisations struggled because they created a non-unionised workforce. We carried the union with us. Even the ESOP scheme we launched in April last year was offered to all employees, across all scales,” Mr Srinivasan pointed out.

Yaar tumko agriculture me job hoga to tu chhor dega kya, arey bol na ki abhi berojgaar hu to sab me try maar raha hu ki kahi ho jaye, waise ye sach hai ki jo bhi as a PO join kiya hai wo salary se bhale hi khush hai lekin wo kisi bhi other department se jyada word load dho raha hai……..
Ya you are right jayesh, isiliye to hum sabhi isme try kar rahe hai, behtar hoga ki hope loose karke tension lene se jyada achha hai ki abhi apne next step par dhyan ko concentrate kiya jaaye….

Tension mt lo prashant, waha aapke language se jyada aapke though ko priority milega, isiliye kam hi bolna lekin to the point bolna, fir koi nahi rokega. Arey socho agar sirf english waale hi select kiye jaate to hum maximum bihari kabhi prepare karke apna time hi loss kyu karte,,…. Best of luck dude…
Yeah earlier was gud,bank to bank individul exam conduction was better den dis ibps ,nw hav 2 wait for 6mnts 4 dis xam & hav to face high level stuff competition thts really not gud 4 evry one.

I.T field me english main part hota hai, par banking field me english se jyada knowledge mayne rakhta hai.. Isliye bina tension liye araam se hindi me gd bolna.. Aur haan fdi bahut important topic hai may be usi me gd karwaye to use ache se prepare kar lena…
Mera bht kam marks hai roshni.. Only 134
kitne mahan mahan log exam dete hai……………interview bhi ek bank ka start ho gaya …….aur score card bare me puch raha hai ki kaise get hoga
@ prashant yeah give in hindi but others candi may give in eng so be carefull while answering reply to others after understand well.

@ lal I know m working as clerical n got 146 ibps po too obc have a good chance bcoz when ibps po-2 result ayega tab tak most of bank ad aa jayega. abhi clerical ka result aya nahi to po-2 me to jyada time lagega
Yaar jayesh, ek achhi baat ye hai humlog ko 3 month extra time mil gaya hai, kyuki ibps-2 march me na hokar jun me hoga, or maximum banks after march vacancies denge, jo bilkul ibps-1 waalo ke liye hi hoga, so we should be optimistic rather loosing hope….
Who told you, cutoff will certainly be low, and may fall upto 145 for gen……

I Think 2700 of Central Bank is INDIa r PO + CLERK COz CEntral Bank Of India Never recruit 2700 in PO Po ki 500 HOgi Central mein Gen ke Liye
