IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) has changed the way bank exams are conducted in India. IBPS now conducts a common written exam (CWE) for PO selection in 19 participating PSU banks in India. These exams got tremendous response with over 7.5 Lakh applicants in IBPS PO / MT Exam held on 17 June, 2012. This post is intended to provide information on all aspects of IBPS PO Recruitment at a single place and it will cover IBPS PO Exam, Admit card / Hall Ticket, Call Letter, IBPS Results for Bank PO, PO Score cards, IBPS PO Study Material, IBPS PO Interviews, IBPS PO Job Notifications from various banks in 2012 and 2013.

yes rbi has control over private banks ,in following manner-
-legal prescriptions for ownership and governance of pvt banks laid down in Banking Regulation Act, 1949 have been supplemented by regulatory prescriptions issued by RBI from time to time.
– pvt banks need aprroval from RBI regarding composition of board of directors, appointment of CEO.
– RBI Provides guidelines regarding Role and responsibility of directors.
– Guidelines for acknowledgement of transfer/allotment of shares in private sector banks are issued in the interest of transparency by RBI.
– Foreign investment(FII,FDI) in the pvt banking sector is managed by RBI.
– DECISION regading the minimum capital requirement by a pvt bank is taken by RBI.

This is the why both these institutions are also known as Bretton woods institutions.
