IBPS has declared the results of the Bank CWE Clerk Exam and about 5.3 Lakh candidates have cleared the exam. So, it is now time to gear up for the interviews which will soon follow and competition won’t be easy because of the sheer number. It is utmost important to prepare well for the interviews as many of you will get interview calls only from few banks and it is important that you get selected in atleast one bank. Usually for bank interviews, there will be 2 to 3 persons in the interview panel. Before the final interview, HR will check all the necessary documents needed and he can also ask few bank specific questions like CASA, Basel norms and profit of the bank, difference between various banking products etc. We are categorising the questions in 2 forms – HR Questions and Technical Questions

The HR questions you can expect in your interview are

  1. Tell me about yourself
  2. Tell me about your family
  3. Incase, if you are the only daughter/son in your family, will your parents allow you to work anywhere across India?
  4. What are your strengths and weaknesses?
  5. Don’t you think you are over qualified for this position?
  6. Why not software after engineering?
  7. Why did you leave your previous company?
  8. Why do you want to work here?
  9. Have you applied for any other banks?
  10. What do you know about your bank?
  11. Have you applied to other areas apart from banking?
  12. Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now?
  13. If you are female – Being a girl, if you are posted in unsafe place like Assam, will you continue to work with us?
  14. Did you prepare for the interview? What did you prepare? (questions will be asked from what you prepared)
  15. Have you attended any bank interviews before?
  16. Do you have any questions for us?

The Technical Questions which can be asked in a bank interview are –

  1. What do you know BASEL norms
  2. What is CAR? (Capital Adequacy Ratio)
  3. What is the current CRR and SLR?
  4. What is microfinance?
  5. Repo Rate and Reverse Repo rate?
  6. What is SEBI?
  7. What is inflation and deflation?
  8. What is mutual fund?
  9. What is IMF?
  10. What is ULIP?
  11. Do you have account in bank? Which bank? Why?
  12. Differences you see in a private and public bank.
  13. What is forex?
  14. What is Bank rate?
  15. Have you heard about KYC? what is KYC?

    In my grad. i chosen to B.B.A. and after that not completed to M.B.A so what ans give to interviewer why i am not completed my M.B.A.and turn to banking exam and how my study help in banking sector i have taken finance in last year specialization.

    BBA is a complete professional degree in itself, nd since I have chosen banking as my profession, it’ll be better to join as early as possible. Bank PO is the best way to enter in banking, so I decided to prepare for it instead of going for MBA…

    I cleared ibps p/mt ii
    with 137 tws in general category
    i completed bba, gdbm and b.com in graduation
    and mba in finance (post graduation)
    have 1.5 years experience (1 yr as an account asst and 6 months as an office asst.-export documentation-presently working)

    what will i reply if ibps asks me that being a post graduate are you not overqualified??

    i m taking this interview as a golden opportunity

    please help me for the interview.. how & what to prepare?

    @Mansi, you require your caste certificate for appearing interview, the bank for whom you applying, they will show perfoma of caste certificate in advertisement issued by bank for interview

    @jaynath, 101 is not compatible score, still many banks don’t announce cut off marks for interview you have chance to appear for interview, keep checking ibps site

    @Khetarpar Smruti, ibps clerk 2012-13 exam already gone. for next 2013-14. you can check and be updated with ipbs site.

    @Priya, as you are science student, they won’t ask about account or any management subject. they can ask about yourself, personal info, your background, about your work if you are working.

    @Pooja Gupta, you can say as i have completed my mba with finance, banking is pure finance, and looking forward to it, i am looking my self for any middle level management in banking sector, as this is the 1st step towards my goal, i planning to step on it.
