How to Prepare SBI PO Descriptive Paper?
State bank of India (SBI) is world renowned bank and also the biggest bank in India in terms of Assets and Market Capitalization and various others factors. SBI is ranked 285th in the Fortune Global 500 rankings of the world’s biggest corporations for the year 2012.
SBI have made official announcement regarding PO recruitment in January 2013 and is conducting exams across various centers all over the country on 28th April 2013.
Earlier we have discussed about Objective questions and now we are discussing about the Descriptive exam pattern, and topics which are important. Descriptive Section needs regular practice. It comprises of mainly these sections viz :
1. Essay Writing
2. Letter Writing
3. Precise Writing
4. Paragraph Writing
Let us elaborate each section in detail.
1. Essay Writing : In this section candidates are asked to write on any topic such as topic related to current scenario of any country, or banking related topic or even general topics. Few expected questions for the forthcoming exam are as follows :
A) FDI In Retail
B) Women Security
C) Budget 2013-14
D) Internet / Mobile Banking
E) Advantages Of Nationalization Of Banks
F) Population Explosion
G) Corruption In India
H) Economic Recession
I ) Technology In Banking
J) Reason for Fall In Indian Rupee
K) Nuclear / Thermal Power Projects In India and their Impact
L) Globalization.
2. Letter Writing: In this section the candidates have to keep in mind the Format of both formal and informal letters. In letter writing both content as well as format are equally important.
3. Precise Writing : A Precise means Short Summary, and that too in your own words. A Precise should be written in 1/3rd of the original content given. Also an appropriate heading should be given. A precise reflects the heart of a passage. You should not repeat articles, adjectives etc, rather focus on writing the main content of the paragraph in your own words.
4. Paragraph Writing : In this very section a candidate will be given a phrase or a quotation and will be asked to expand it in your own words in 100 to 150 words. Few examples are :
A) Tit for Tat
B) Failure is the stepping stone to success
C) Unity is strength
