The much awaited IBPS PO Exam – Probationary Officers/Management Trainees Result held on 17th June 2012 was declared by IBPS on October 5,2012.

Out of 7,51,032 candidates appeared for  the exam , just about 8% or 61,339 candidates have qualified for further process.

This result was quite expected as the Written exam was of Difficult level. Another reason for such low passing percentage of candidates is that it was mandatory to score minimum passing marks in each section as well.

Now Whats Next?

IBPS has made it clear that these latest scores of passed candidates will be used on or after December 12, 2012 only. One could expect new bank recruitment’s for 2012 pass-outs in the beginning of year 2013 onwards.

Also a great news for Students which was published in a leading newspaper dated October 5, 2012 stating that Government has cleared the proposal for common job interviews for nationalised banks.

A wise decision has been taken at last. Multiple exams/interviews is certainly an annoying process.

The IBPS is nothing but reincarnation of BSRB (Banking Services Recruitment Board) which prevailed in 1980’s for selection of personnel in all the banks. A single system of exam/interview will optimise time and economise on costs and save energy of all.
Further, an unique system would bring in more efficiency in conducting exams and declaration of results on a faster scale.

In this single pattern of exams, the students have better chances of employment as the vacancies will be more and it would go a long way in eliminating malpractices at all levels.

IBPS will select candidates according to the total requirement and they will be placed according to their preferences. It will hold interviews in multiple locations to help regional candidates.

Good Luck to all our selected candidates. These interviews is a positive sign for everyone. Keep up the good work. Prepare well for your interviews.
