Effects Of Common Interview On IBPS Aspirant !!
IBPS is an institute, recognized by government of India, which got the permission from Indian government to conduct the common exam for bank jobs. It conducted PO 1, PO 2 and Clerk CWE successfully and issued Scorecard for the same.
Recently in a meeting of IBPS with Finance ministry it was discussed that candidates appearing for the common bank entrance exam may soon have to go through only one interview to land a bank job in India.
The finance ministry, in consultation with state-owned banks, is considering a centralized interview for all candidates who clear the written exam, a move that is expected to benefit lakhs of students who appear in these examinations.
If common interview for IBPS aspirants get implemented, it will have both positives as well as negative effects. Here we tried to discuss some of them.
Positives of Common Interviews :-
A common interview will help both banks and candidates by simplifying the recruitment process further and reducing the time involved in the selection process. Currently, although all state-owned banks other than the State Bank of India and its associates recruit through one common written exam, students have to appear in multiple interviews to get a job !
Common Interview is a good step to stop multiple selections as in a common interview, cutoff will also be common and we can analyze our chances of selection as well. As there would be one interview so there would be less chaos, simple n fast procedure, more economical and student friendly along with lots of similar benefits ! Also banks would be able to sort out the candidates as per there criteria and the students wont have to suffer the mental fatigue which they are facing today due to individual interviews for each bank. Hence there would only be a single selection / rejection round which is the need of the hour !
Negatives of Common Interviews :-
Common interview has a two faced stand ! Like every coin has 2 sides, the Common Interviews will also have a negative side which is the chance to get finally selected will be reduced if someone does any single mistake on the Interview day, he can lose all his chances for all 19 banks. Hence it would be a one-go chance for the students i.e if one perform well on that very day its awesome otherwise the candidate may miss final selection despite having good TWS and would have to wait for next PO / Clerical exams !
To be frank we can’t judge which one is more suitable for the candidates as main “Aim” of IBPS was to simplify the Banking Recruitment process which these individual Bank Recruitment were unable to do for past several years ! Hence IBPS concept was introduced as it claimed to be simple, student friendly system and would prevent multiple selection by selecting accurate number of candidates.
But actually common interviews are not necessary as IBPS just need to amend its policies such as it should start seizing the scorecards of selected candidates and should give only 1 final cut off as this would help to avoid the situation of over lapping and multiple selection which has proved to be a curse for the IBPS scorecard holders till date!
Please provide your views below regarding common interview policy whether it should be implemented or not and will it be benificial if implemented?

Plz implement it from ibps 1 onwards………….because it possitive impact is more than negative……
I think the cut off marks for passing the ibps po and clerk exam should be kept high..as u alow 120 for general and 105 for other category but select only those who secure more marks..set a more target so that student could prepare accordingly and those who achieve the target score call them for interview as a low score student may be the suitalbe candidate then a high score acheiveing student..
i am 50 % happy and 50 % sad… pehle hi ibps ki wjh se itni mushkil se suffer kar re hai aur upar se fir se one and last take…… i do not know whats going on but seriously the changed syatem of examination of banks has totally changed our future…
Yes I am agree with Mithun. Low score student should get a chance for interview, otherwise target marks should be high.
right true …….interview to attend kar paigai ……nasib mai hogo to milbhisakta hey
i m not at all happy with the interviews, since the candidates scored above 150 are only getting short listed for the interviews in multiple banks, and rest others are not. Only those candidates are getting selected. they very well know that they cant serve the multiple banks at a time, then y do they apply ?
its not a cooperate sector so that if they get selected in one bank they offer something, n if selected in other bank they offer more then that. in such case the other guys are loosing hope of getting selected.
its a kind request for the IBPS officer to come out with the solution for this. since the openings are more and the candidates who’s TWS score is more then 150 are getting short listed and only they are attending the interviews, and only they are getting appointed in multiple banks. In such conditions its just waste of time for the bank authorities so interview only those candidates.
Dear sir kindly do the need full so that the candidates below 150 should also be selected in banking sector
frnd arun kumar i am sushil i got 152 marks in gen cat but not yet get any single interview cal….above 160 tws are getting opportunity to appear in the interview…. i am also waiting for my turn to get an interview cal..
sahi kaha bhai swayam agr kismat mein hua toh kya pata job mil hi jaaye.. ho sakta hai k hum log high scorer se jyada acha pertform karey interview mein…..
I don’t think common interview will be difficult to go through as there will be role of written mark in selection process. High mark in IBPS will definitely give you the job.
I am also agree with arun kumar,,,,,, I cleared both ibps p.o. and ibps clerk exam with 140 and 151 score,,,, but i can’t get a single interview call from any ibps score card………
I think that instead of having a common a common interview the banks should continue with separate individual interviews as on having one common interview definitely the candidates will be in loss. Instead of this the banks and IBPS should together decide and call for interviews and declare results. I mean that they should decide a definite term for calling the candidates and then declaring the results. Once 1 bank have finished its recruitment process, the other bank should call next set of candidates and also should make sure that the candidates finally selected in the 1st bank should not get interview call. I think in this way the problem will be solved to an extent. Currently around 70% PO aspirants are sitting w/lo an interview call from any bank while other 30% are being called again and again. If a process somewhat similar to what suggested is adopted then would be very easy and efficient for all.
common interview should not be implemented. It is true that max. Number of students are facing problems with the current selection process system. I am also one of them. I have 159 in GEN category. Just below 161. But for this, common interview is not the only solution. The CWE score card should be seized, after a candidate is selected and has confirmed that he is going to join the particular bank. As per i think this is the only solution.
i also got 150 in po and 154 in clerk in obc category but didnt get a single call.
SEIZING OF IBPS SCORE CARD IS MORE PRACTICAL & ACCEPTABLE PROCEDURE BECAUSE IF ANY ONE GOT GOOD MARKS HE WILL DEFINETLY GET ATLEAST ONE JOB DEPENDING UPON PERFORMANCE,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Idea of Yogesh is acceptable,,,,,,,,,,
i got 164 gen…but got nothing…so its good if impliment soon…
me too in favor of seizing score card once selected. . that would be more practical than common interview
hello,,,,frnds i got 131 marks from haryana (obc)
muje koi chance milega inteview ke leye tell me ,, plz
neha try in indian bank because indian bank put cuff off on 131-141 for obc
150 se upar walo ko 2 intrw chances hone chahie ..usse kam ke liye 1 chance………..
I think implementing common interview for all bank would be good, but there sud be 2 chance for those who fail in the first attempt… and considering all d academic percentage, cwe score plus interview… I hv scored 150 gen. but still i did nt get a call for an interview..
yes, common interview should be implemented as soon as possible.i think it has not much negetive impact that written above.it will help both students n banks which everybody’s wish.so let’s fulfil everybody’s wish..
i dont think common interview is a god idea. it makes our opportunities less. for many of us first interview is like a trial . and we have to need more interviews to face if we want to get selected. plz ibps dont do this.
i scored 165 from UP general category in ibps clerk but din get any intervw call…..i think 2 reduce multiple slection bank doesnt allow to apply selected candidate
the idea of common interview is totally wrong, while there should be a system that if any person is selected in 1st bank then he/she will not be able to apply in any next bank or he/she should not get any interview call from further bank. OR if the system common interview is implemented then the IBPS Clerical test must be conducted atleast 4 times in a year.
Are you guys agree with my comment.
i thnk ths decision is much fare.,atleast every person qualified in ibps wanna atleast one chance to apper in interview, n it must be get him…
i hv got 160 in gen, n still waitng for a call, is it fair…
aapki banai hui new pranali bahut galat hai. 1 student bhi jyada bank ko kawar kar raha hai. Or aap kisi ka bi new chance nahi de pa rahe hai.
I invite common interview but it should allow all candidates who got score card else increase the minimum score. every thng is fine
I cleard ibps po 1 but no interview. and 2nd exam i dont know even I can through written itself, what is this……….eeeeeeeeeeeeee.
I srtongly believe in that before starting common bank exams they have not done any brain stroming ,no analysis nothing simply they started to the benfit of only banks.
hope they might do better now onwards.
but my chances of clearing exam this time is below 10% . GOD PLEASE SAVE ME. I SHOULD GET JOB THIS TIME.
sudha,u r rite.i m totally agree with u.comman interview has no more prospective i think.they hav to just sized the score card after joining any bank of tht candidate will be benificial to other low score candidates…..rest,hope the best for 2nd ibps…….
