Canara Bank, one of the leading banks in India with over 3500 branches has announced final list of shortlisted candidates for about 2000 Probationary Officers (Bank POs) vacancies from the candidates who cleared IBPS Exam 2012 and appeared for the interviews which were held in April. Canara bank is among the 19 participating banks for IBPS CWE Exam.

friends, i m from pune. got selected in canara. m belongs to.sc category. my tws was 152. got 90% in interview and 89.5% in group discussion. m already working as asst in govt of maharashtra ( class 2 ).i hv joined mantralay just 2 week prior the canara result. m from pune but in mail i rcvd hyderabad as training center. my queries:
1. which job is better career prospectwise. state govt class two officer non transferable job or bank po transferable job.
2. anyone pls tell me, how much in hand salary in canara bank and what all perks are we entitled to?
3. will i get my home state ? or my city for posting :-)
i should hv been given mumbai as training center bt got hyderabad :-( will i get southern state for posting or they sent us to home state?

You can change your religion/name to gulabo (Hindu name), you will surely get in.
no guessing dude. people will die for mantrayal job being in the eyes of powerfull people provided you are intelligent & can use contacts intelligently. comparatively bank jobs are like Pakistan border posting where living conditions will be hellish, your boss knows nothing/cant help but you are always under threat of dismissal for minor errors. even salary is better in state govt especially in a rich state like maharashtra. why because banks have to compete with each other (keeping salary low & mad race to get more customers) whereas maharashtra govt has no competition & treasury is full of tax revenue.

I m basically upsc civil services aspirant. cleared prelims 4times now it will be 5th. for preparation of upsc i left my shipping company mnc job where i was asst manager. i dnt think i will get much time for upsc studies if i join bank as po.
