The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will organise the common written exam (CWE) for recruitment of personnel for Bank Clerks (Clerical Cadre) Posts for 19 public sector banks on 27th Nov 2011. Except SBI, most big PSBs are going to recruit bank clerks only on the performance of CWE for banks clerks and hence this exam is very important for the aspirants who want to seek clerical job in any of these 19 banks.

General Information for Bank Clerks Common Written Examination (CWE)

The Common Written Exam (CWE) for Clerical Cadre will be 250 marks written exam of 2 & 1/2 hrs. The syllabus and pattern for Bank Clerks CWE is as follows –

Negative Marking (Penalty for wrong answers) – The question paper will have negative marking. The negative marking will be 1/4th of the total marks assigned to a question. So for 1 mark question, it will be 0.25

Cut Off Score – Each candidate will have to secure a minimum standardized score in each of the tests (means each section) to qualify in the written examination and to be considered for vacancies in the participating banks. The cut-off points will be decided based on the average (Average – ¼ Standard Deviation for General category candidates and Average – ¾ Standard Deviation for Reserved Category candidates)
